history
Sarah had spent her life searching for something. She never knew what it was that she was looking for but she knew that something was missing for her. She'd tried throughout her school years, different religions, hobbies, sports, anything that she could experience. Her senior year she met Everson Cameron and for a while he seemed to change everything for her. After Sarah graduated she moved in with Everson, who was only a year older than her but already seemed to have a successful position as a mechanic and his own place. They weren't married, which led to much discord with her parents. Only a few months later, Sarah was pregnant and they had a shotgun wedding
Soon after, Dominic Cameron was born, a little too early but otherwise healthy.
After Dominic was born, Sarah seemed to return to the place where she felt unfilled and started looking again. Soon, she'd come across someone selling Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard and a pamphlet about the Church of Scientology. She'd read Dianetics obsessively and then soon she was using Everson's money to pay for courses. Even sooner, they started fighting about Scientology. She knew it was the answer to all her questions and already she was committed. Motherhood didn't suit her very well and already the courses she was attending were telling her that was okay -- natural, even. Before much longer, Everson was kicking Sarah out, accusing her of joining a cult.
She left as soon as he had told her she would have a month to find a new place and a job. What he hadn't expected was her to run off in the middle of the night with their son. He didn't have a clue where they went but he wanted his son back -- truly, he wanted Sarah back, he had loved her. But he hadn't been enough for her.
Throughout his childhood, Dominic had only met his father a few times and as soon as he was old enough, his mother had made him sign a billion year contract to the church and join the Sea Organization. That's where he'd met Adrienne, his best friend and the person who helped him through it all.
